    Questions from new forum member

I have been a Marc Cohn fan for over 10 years but have yet to see him live. That will change tomorrow in Kansas City!! My wife and I are spiritually bound to "True Companion" and I had it performed for her at our 25th Wedding Anniversary a few years back. It seems from what I have read that Marc does not enjoy playing that song, and may not play it at concerts. Is that true? While we are fans of all of Marc's music and will enjoy the show no matter what, "True Companion" holds so much emotional significance for us. What should we expect?

Happy belated anniversary!  The longevity of your union is something truly to be celebrated.

Marc addressed this very question in his Road Journal (#7) of February 4, 2008:

“The artist reserves the right to make his own set list.

One song does not a concert make…I would hope.

That said, I play the song at least 90-95% of the time.

Thank you for making it part of your lives, I truly do appreciate it.”

Marc and his band are a group of skilled and passionate performers.  Have a wonderful evening.

DreamRedux-  Thanks for your kind reply, I will keep my fingers crossed for "True Companion". We have turned our 21  and 23 year old sons into Marc fans and they are going with us to the concert. I will let you know how the show goes, I anticipate a life "highlight" evening, so I may report with a little bias.

What a special family evening it will be.  It might be a good idea to bring a camera.  You may be able to take photographs (no flash) of the show, depending on the venue's rules.  Also, Marc and Shane (his guitarist) have been greeting fans for autographs and photos after the show, and they may do so tonight.  I hope you are able to get some special keepsake photos of your evening.  Cool

I'll be looking forward to your report. Yes

You wouldn't be the first!  Wink
