The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. Between the traveling, the interviews. and the TV and radio performances, you can start to lose the plot now and then. Because of you though, the shows are the great equalizer. Being able to get out on stage almost never fails to reboot us and correct whatever ailments or stresses have taken hold during the day. What a gift.
It wasn't planned this way, but being back in Denver almost five years to the day since the shooting, seems to have provided me with an opportunity i guess i wasn't ready for until today. Of course i've played Denver several times since then, and have continued to feel embraced by the lovely folks that live here. The only thing i haven't been able to do so far is to go back to the scene of the crime. So, on our way to a nice dinner on a rare night off...Shane, Tom and I are going to have a look around. Tom and Shane have already told me so many things that i didn't know or don't remember about that night...maybe something new will come up. I'm trying not to have too many expectations about it, but it feels like it might be healing to just stand there and take it in...whatever "it" turns out to be for each of us. More on that later.
I hope you're all having a great summer. Thanks again for coming out to the shows and spreading the word about the new record.
